The Insect Artist: How to Observe, Draw, and Paint Butterflies, Bees and More

WAF enthusiastically welcomes Zebith S. Thalden, nature artist extraordinaire. Her artwork has been featured throughout the United States and abroad. Her recent gem, The Insect Artist: How to Observe, Draw, and Paint Butterflies, Bees and More, is a book for artists of all levels and anyone interested in rediscovering the natural world through artistic expression. Clear instructions describe each step of the process, and photos show the anatomy and coloration of each insect. More advanced projects focus on design principles, realistic environments, and creative challenges. This work represents Zebith’s general mission: to celebrate and protect the natural world through her illuminating portrayal of its varied forms. By combining scientific knowledge with artistic skill, she produces a synergy that inspires wonderment, curiosity and environmental stewardship. Meet her at the Book Fair on Sunday, December 8th. Please check the official signing schedule published by Bird Alliance of Oregon in case of changes before you head out.
