Jewelry

Sue Park has worked in various materials throughout her journey as an artist but has always loved challenges, combining artistic practices of printmaking with jewelry making in her current life as a jewelry maker. She has a BFA from the University of Iowa and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in Sculpture. From her experience as a woodworker/welder to art restoration specialist for disaster restoration in the Portland metro area for the last 15 years, she has loved working with various materials to create pieces of artwork that focuses on themes of home, belonging, and exploration. Sue is a Korean-American and was born and raised in Iowa before moving to the West Coast to find exactly where home is, which she is proud to say is in Portland, Oregon.

Sue creates handmade landscape jewelry inspired by the Pacific Northwest. Her collection includes images of Mt. Hood, Multnomah Falls, Crater Lake, Three Sisters, Mt. Saint Helens, Haystack Rock, and the Columbia River Gorge. The jewelry consists of double-sided necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, hats, and guitar picks. All of the jewelry is hand cut, hand painted with a special recipe resist, and dipped into an acid bath to etch out the individual designs.
