Meet the Artist

Sky Evans

Drawing/Painting

Sky Evans paints the land and animals of the Pacific Northwest in energetic and vivid colors. Her bird and mammal subjects are painted with a contemporary take on pointillism; distinct strokes that encompass each hue gives them a mosaic-like quality. Brilliant and captivating, they are charming portraits of our PNW wildlife.

Sky received her BS in Art from Oregon State University in 1986. She got her second degree in education from WOSU and taught Art in the Monroe and Alpine school district for many years. She started After School Arts programs and secured grants to bring more art activities to our community where she has lived for almost 40 years. She has her own art business and has painted many murals in her region, the most recent being on the wall of the Monroe Arts Assoc. building facing Hwy 99 in Monroe (OR). She has participated in many art festivals as a vendor selling her paintings, and her art has been shown in galleries all over Oregon (and currently in Gallery One, Ellensburg WA) She has lectured in various venues on the importance of art and her personal process from Medford to Portland. She’s been commissioned to do paintings, signs, murals and even a wine label (a flying bluebird)! An avid birder and hiker, she paints her personal love of the PNW in images taken from hiking the PCT as well as animals of all kinds that move her and capture her attention due to their beauty and grace.
