Sarah Goodnough

Sarah Goodnough is a self-taught professional artist with nearly 20 years of experience. After graduating from Miami University of Ohio with a degree in Mass Communications, her travels led her to Portland, OR, where she fell in love with painting. A chance meeting with a hotelier and entrepreneur, who became her mentor, led to her designing the interior for the Cannery Pier Hotel in Astoria, OR. Her work is held in numerous private collections, corporate offices, hospitals, and hotels. She currently lives in Vancouver, WA with her husband, Manu Magnoni, and together they balance her art career with taking small groups to Italy and his love for sharing Italian culture and cuisine.
Materials and tools used include: acrylic paint, texture mediums, and various mark-making tools and techniques. She begins with a random kaleidoscope of colors and texture, then sketches in the concept with a paintbrush. She builds layers of color and texture with glazes, splatters, scratches, and drips in a spontaneous yet calculated process.
