Molly Reeves

For years Molly Reeves has been passionately working and creating paintings to discover what is true and valuable for her. The flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest enchant her. It’s the land of her birth; she thought that being able to see the volcanoes, trees and birds was something ordinary. When she learned to write in color and lines and read the treasures offered to us so generously, she became compelled to record some of her observations. Molly wants to record the miracles that take place every moment of every hour, in every season, offering a wealth of different images in a landscape that is constantly changing.
Molly has a BS degree in Art: Painting from Portland State University and a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University.
The oil paintings are done with archival oil paint on prepared surfaces taking time to do many layers. As the paint is dry she varnishes each work. She uses oil paint created in Portland, OR. Her subjects (birds, flowers & landscapes) are typically from Oregon.
