Mitzi Kugler

3D Mixed Media/ Glass

Mitzi Kugler found the skills she has attained through nearly 20 years of pottery, which helped propel her into working with glass. Knowing how to make her own forms and manipulating the kiln temperatures has helped expand her creativity. Her love of nature and the environment inspires her to create work ranging from the realistic to the impressionistic. She enjoys challenges to push the boundaries of kiln forming and expanding her self-taught method of creating components using a glass torch. Welding different types of framing has expanded her vision of how she can make and present the fused glass artwork. Where some pieces of her glass and metal have morphed into mixed media.

Mitzi is married with four children, has a master’s degree in education, has hosted six overseas youth for home stays, has lived overseas, has raised 13 guide dogs for the blind, gardens, loves to cook and bake, takes photos, hikes, canoes, and has an art studio. Motto: Be a cloud and ride the wind.
