Meet the Artist
Linda Workman-Morelli
Ceramics
Born and raised in Portland, OR, Linda Workman-Morelli learned her craft at Lewis and Clark College, Portland State University, and the Oregon College of Arts and Crafts. She found her artistic voice at the Haystack Mountain School of Arts and Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine. She earned BA degrees from Lewis and Clark College and Portland State University and a MAT from Lewis and Clark College, studying English and Art/Ceramics. She spent three decades as an educator working with mainstream, alternative, and special needs teenagers and has also led clay workshops for elementary school students.
Linda currently sells her work through The Art Elements Gallery in Newberg, Oregon and serves as President of the Oregon Potters Association. She’s a co-founder of the Yamhill County Art Harvest Studio Tour.
Her work included hand-built and wheel-thrown clay vessels and sculptures pit-fired in straw and wood-pellets and burnished or painted with a copper and salt wash. Copper leaf is applied after the firing.
