One Day This Tree Will Fall

Leslie Barnard Booth revisits the Wild Arts Festival with her newest book, One Day This Tree Will Fall, a life story told from the beginnings of a tree seed, through growth, until its natural end, but continuing as a log, an animal habitat, and finally as nutrition for future trees. Illustrated by Stephanie Fizer Coleman in vivid, yet soothing colors and graphics, this book brings nature full-circle and inspires young readers to consider all the ways that a simple tree gives back even after it has fallen. Her prior book also gives a rich life to another element of nature, the humble stone: A Stone is A Story. Leslie grew up in the Pacific Northwest, holds an MFA in creative writing and an MS in education from the University of Oregon. Leslie lives in Portland, Oregon, and loves exploring the natural world with her family. Meet her at the Book Fair on Saturday, December 7th. Please check the official signing schedule published by Bird Alliance of Oregon in case changes before you head out.
