Kim Stafford — author, teacher, songwriter, oral historian, and more — is at WAF with his newest book of poems, As the Sky Begins to Change. The poems embrace empathy, humor and reconciliation, and bear witness to the human condition: both its heights and depths. His connection with nature is tangible and up-lifting his eloquence enchanting. Kim also brings with him his peace poem, A Proclamation for Peace, in 50 of the world’s languages. His precious poetry titles include Wild Honey, Tough Salt and Singer From Afar. In addition to poetry, he has published various works of prose including the biography, Early Morning: Remembering My Father, William Stafford and a memoir, 100 Tricks Every Boy Can Do. Kim has earned numerous awards and was chosen Oregon’s Poet Laureate for two years in 2018. You can meet him at the Book Fair on Sunday, December 8th.
