Bonnie White
DRAWING/Painting
Bonnie White has been painting for about 25 years in the Columbia Gorge area. She considers both Oregon and Washington to be her home. She was born in Oregon but has lived on a small farm in Washington (right across the river) since 1979. She expresses her passion for the beauty of her environment through watercolor.
Bonnie’s study of art has been self-directed with workshop instructors that include, most notably, Tom Lynch (watercolor), Ron Ranson (watercolor) and Kenn Backhaus (oil). She is moved by the quiet sensitivity of the work of Georgia O’Keefe, Andrew Wyeth, and Richard Schmid. She lives and paints in the Columbia Gorge area of the Pacific Northwest. She loves everything about the Pacific Northwest and feels an increasing desperation to share its beauty, as seen through her eyes, for future generations.
Bonnie paints landscapes and flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest with a focus on the Columbia River Gorge, in traditional transparent watercolor, using archival materials. She creates prints, cards, calendars and magnets from the images she’s painte
