We hope you’ll join us! RSVP below.
On Saturday, several of our outstanding authors will be holding a panel on the dangers and opportunities that arise in the future with regards to climate change, dangerous wildfires, and sustainable food practices that can protect and preserve biological diversity.
Daniel Mathews warned about the threat to our forests and the fires that would come in his book, Trees in Trouble: Wildfires, Infestations and Climate Change. Yet, in understanding the extent of the problem, he also provides some hope and presents some possible solutions.
In John Marzluff’s latest book, In Search of Meadowlarks: Birds, Farms, and Food in Harmony with the Land, he explores using sustainable farming practices that can protect and preserve biological diversity.
In As the World Burns, Lee van der Voo reports on the ground-breaking court case pitting young adults against the forces behind climate change (Juliana v. the United States).
Our moderator, Bob Sallinger, is Portland Audubon’s Conservation Director.
Gloria Brown, one of our featured authors for this year and our original moderator for this panel, will unfortunately not be able to attend. Although she cannot be here with us for this panel, we encourage you to check out her author page and her book.
