After an extensive nationwide search, Nick Hardigg has been appointed as the next executive director of the Audubon Society of Portland. He will begin in his new role March 23.

AUDUBON

PORTLAND -- After an extensive nationwide search, Nick Hardigg has been appointed as the next executive director of the Audubon Society of Portland. He will begin in his new role March 23.

Hardigg is currently executive director of the nonprofit Portland Parks Foundation, and he recently co-chaired the Fix Our Parks campaign that helped pass Portland's $68 million parks bond.

Before he joined the Portland Parks Foundation, Hardigg served as executive director for the Alaska Conservation Foundation and director of finance and operations at The Nature Conservancy in Oregon.

Earlier in his career, Hardigg served as chief of tourism and concessions management at Grand Canyon National Park and Denali National Park.

He also has more than 10 years of experience on the boards of national nonprofit organizations like the Association of Partners for Public Lands.

Hardigg holds a masters in business administration from the Yale School of Management and a bachelor of science degree in environmental science from Wesleyan University.

HEALTH

PORTLAND -- Tom Doney, president and chief executive officer of Cypress Benefit Administrators, has been named chairman of the national board of directors for the Society of Professional Benefit Administrators.

Cypress Benefit Administrators, a third party health benefit administrator headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, has locations in Portland and Salem.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

PORTLAND -- The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber has added Paulina Almaraz as a scholarship/event coordinator.

Almaraz will be responsible for providing bilingual/bicultural information to students and parents about the chamber's scholarship program and holding workshops for students and parents regarding how to finance a higher education.

Almaraz, who has experience working with students and planning events with a variety of organizations, will also assist in planning and implementing other chamber events throughout the year.

She has a bachelor of science in organismal biology from Portland State University.

The chamber has awarded $1.7 million in scholarships to 673 Latinos students in Oregon and Southwest Washington since 1996. The next Scholarship Award Luncheon will be held on May 1 at the Oregon Convention Center.

TECHNOLOGY

HILLSBORO -- FEI Company announced that Anthony L. Trunzo has accepted an offer to join the company as its executive vice president and chief financial officer effective April 10.

Trunzo will succeed Raymond A. Link, who is retiring after having served as FEI's executive vice president and chief financial officer since July 2005, and as interim chief executive officer and chief financial officer from April 2006 to August 2006. Link will assist in transitioning his role to Trunzo.

Since 2010, Trunzo has been senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer of FLIR Systems, Inc. He joined FLIR in August 2003 as senior vice president, Corporate Strategy and Development.

Prior to joining FLIR, Trunzo was a managing director in the Investment Banking Group at Banc of America Securities, LLC and previously held various positions at PNC Financial Services Group, Inc.

He holds a bachelor of arts in economics from the Catholic University of America, a masters in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Pittsburgh, and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
